Hi guys, welcome to dotGame, a blog focused on game development with .NET technologies. I’m Stacey Haffner, I’m a Program manager on the .NET team and co-founder of What Up Games. On this blog, we’ll be focusing on game developments in three types of categories.
- The first is, tips and tricks and those are going to be short, about five minute long videos that can kind of get you going very quickly. And don’t require too much in-depth analysis or look at what’s being done.
- The second type is tutorials, and that is going to focus on longer content, probably about 30 minutes or so, and we’ll look at stuff a little bit more deeply.
- And then the third will be interviews with industry experts.
We also have a GitHub repo that’s been setup for dotGame. And on that repo you’ll be able to find information, particularly related to the project files that are tied to either really the tips or tricks or the tutorial game files. And then I’ll end up building this out more with helpful resources, for learning game development. And just things that I found that are either other tutorials, or free content, or just various things to kinda help you get going. So that’s it for our introduction and the first episode that we’ll be doing will be focusing on the basics of using Unity, including just going over the UI, talking about the core concepts, and then setting up a scene, which we’ll be diving in to for the next several videos after that.
