VMware Announces vCloud Air Dedicated Disaster Recovery. This innovative DRaaS solution entered Beta towards the end of last year and has seen successful adoption by early access customers. Dedicated Disaster Recovery solution combines different vCloud Air services such as Dedicated Cloud, Hybrid Cloud Manager, and vSphere-based replication to deliver a customized enterprise-centric solution.

In a move to accelerate hybrid cloud adoption, IBM and VMware announced a strategic partnership designed to help enterprises take better advantage of the cloud’s speed and economics.

VMware: Coming of Age in a Cross-Cloud World DABCC. February 7th. A recent whitepaper from VMware argues that it was in 2006 when the first cloud services came to market and the term “cloud” found its way into business vernacular. Back then, some 29 million workloads were managed by IT teams worldwide, with just two percent managed in any kind of cloud (and most of that was Salesforce—we’ve come a long way since then).

VMware: A Cloud Alliance Between VMware and AWS Takes Shape  DABCC. February 8th. VMware Cloud on AWS is a seamlessly integrated hybrid offering that gives customers the full software-defined data center (SDDC) experience. It delivers a hybrid cloud architecture that is suited for current and future applications.
